It happens to all of us.... somehow something works its way into the back of our brain and just sits there. Then one day it decides to sneak out while we're busy making ideas, and you mistake it for yours. or sometimes if you give two different kids 10 identical Lego pieces, they'll build the same tower. or maybe I'm just hearing things..
Anyway, here's a thread I'm sure you will all have fun with LIST YOUR RIP OFFS!! (slowly guys, don't flood it)

There's a pretty good selection on BakNBlack's you tube channel. fun to watch too! check out the many installations of "Metal that sounds like other metal"
Explains why even though I hate Green Day, I kinda like that song. 25 or 6 to 4 fucking rocks!!

Wow ! That is sick ! Some of those songs I would have never put together. As An artist and author I find it funny how art of any kind influences other art and is always seems to evolve into some new and strange mutation.

Weird!! I hear songs all the time and I'll say hey Cannibal Corpse or whoever played that like fucking 10 years ago. I guess alot of it is just influence with the occasional rip off.

I remember seeing this documentary a while back about the Beatles. In 1989 John Lennon's personal portable jukebox (that's like a really big Ipod, kids) came up for auction at Christies. Inside was the music that the Beatles studied, dissected, covered and sometimes blatantly ripped off. Pretty good film if you like the Beatles, soul, R&B, or blues. Here's a link to a not so great quality vid. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7532896021332831792#

One example is the band Murder Squad. Their first album had tons of Autopsy riffs on it. I think it was more of a tribute though!!

A friend of mine posted this song on her Facebook
I might be crazy, but the beginning of that song reminded me of two others. It took me forever to dig them out of the back of my brain. but yeah, I'm probably just crazy.
