So, here is a new idea for a guitar straight from the bowels of the abyss. The idea behind it is to have complete fret access, so I placed the fretboard at the very bottom of the guitar. This way, not only is it easier to reach the frets, but I imagine it would also be a lot easier to have upwards of twenty-four frets on the fretboard considering you can just move your hand to the fret without being pestered by the horns of a Strat model. Sorry if you guys can't read it because of my crappy phone camera, I named it the "Daemonoid" model and the Latin on the left says "Ars Longa Vita Brevis," which is posted on the Ikon Customs main page and translates into "Art is long, Life is short."

Headstock is kinda crappy as well, but I did it in pen so there was no erasing that could be done

That guitar looks like some kinda post-apocalyptic weapon or something. Looks like it could do some serious damage. great design. keep em coming.

Yea, well I'm not gonna be using it seeing as I'm not exactly a qualified builder of guitars, and Ikon Customs seems, I can say honestly, like the nicest guitar company out there. Seriously-what other companies do you know of that actually LISTEN to and APPLY the feedback and criticism you give them about their products? Plus, they concoct the baddest guitar shapes around!

I agree with Mal on this one. I've never been so impressed with the craftmanship first of all,and being able to have so much freedom with designing your own instrument is priceless!!

Here's a sketch of a crazy guitar I came up with...not sure what to call it but was influenced by bat & demon wings. Attachments:

The body looks great, just need to fix the proportions.
That headstock is totally killer! We should make that!

Same with this guy, the idea is great, just need to fix it proportionally. When designing guitar bodies, always think of balance first, then go crazy. Anything that's generic is boring to me. Its easy to make a weird design, but remember this is a working guitar and functionality is important. Don't look at that as a limitation, look at it as a challenge. I do.
