Ha,Ha, thats awesome Marc!!I still have Ripping Corpse ,Dreaming with the dead on cassette tape along with a few other classics like Gorguts considered dead , Monstrositys imperial doom , which Lee signed for me twoo years ago!!Has anyone heard about the Hoffman brothers strarting up Amon again???

Wow. A lot of people know who Rutan is but not a lot knows about Ripping Corpse, let alone own "Dreaming with the dead"! Highly underrated album! I lost a lot of my old cassettes, I actually bought "Considered Dead" on cd a few years ago at Fry's since they re-issued it. Haven't heard anything from the Hoffs, except Brian is working for (or with) Neal Moser and is now making guitars. He designed the "Beast" shape that BC has been peddling for years. Since we're oldschoolers here, especially the old farts like us, do you remember how cds used to be sold in big rectangular boxes? I used to collect those. I feel like if they still did that people would still buy cds just because of the collectability. That's why vinyl still sells cause its fun to collect! |

Hell yeah, I remember those. I remember our first CD player That thing cost about $1000!!
Remember when dvd's used to come with booklets and stuff? I never wanted bootleg movies because I always wanted to collect the case and booklet.
Now they don't make booklets anymore, and you can print out your own case and disk art.
Since its no fun to collect them, I make my own bootlegs.

That's the main reason why I still by cds! I like having the cover art lyrics etc....Plus it supports the band more than just downloading it!!

I like Malevolent's "Retribution" album better than the ten commandments.
Death's "Leprosy" is also one killer. I think I bought that album 4 times, 3 times on cassette and once on cd.

As far as Entombed, I do love "left Hand Path", but when it comes to that style of DM I actually like Dismember's "Like An Ever Flowing Stream" a lot better. It had a little more melody to it.

I have'nt even heard anything since the album after wolverine blues,don't even remember what it was called!!The vocals were my main disappointment !! I also still have Nocturnis ,The Key, on cassette!!The only other death metal band with the drummer doing vocals ,besides Autopsy of course!!Very weird album!!Have you ever heard of Paganizer???
