Of course!! Marc can set it up to whatever tuning you want!! Most all guitars are a pain when you change string gauge and tune down. You almost always have to get it set up everytime. Changing string gauge will throw the intination off because you're putting more or less pull on the neck and this is where you get problems. I like just having a guitar for each of my tuning desires!!lol..

Good question bro?? Definitely ask Marc on this one!!! I do know that the Ikon L.E.D.s are not replacable because they are sealed into the fretboard. They last for fucking ever though! I think Marc said like 40,000 hours is the average.

If you look on the "It's Alive" thread at the Fire Demon Azazel you can see what they look like turned on and off. Off the just look like black dots so you could still play just without the L.E.D.s. Or you could just by a new neck and slap it on!! Also you can get different types of side and fretboard markers such as Eyeballs, and Pentagrams.

I can't make anything replacable because I have to pot everything on the inside with epoxy. Reasoning for that is I don't want any potential vibration problems. LEDs are wired internally, whilst Fiber optics would need a light source to illuminate.

The thing about fiber optics is that in order to have a decent sized fret marker you would need a thick cable. and a fiber optic cable that thick wouldn't be able to bend in the small confines of the guitar neck. You could do something similar with plexiglass or plastic, where you imbed something like this in the neck. ══╦═╦═╦═╦╦╦╦╗ the problems with that are 1. that the light output diminishes with length. so every dot is darker than the last. 2. double fret dots are a nightmare 3. most importantly.... it does not flex with the rest of the neck, causing breakage. the LED's are the only way to go.
