@ Electrokutioner you definitely need to bring a Rivera when you visit Ikon so I can test out how an Ikon would sound on that! I only have a Line6 spider 2 and it sounds decent, especially for direct recording. Already planned on it

I had an Engl Fireball, I've played a Powerball, and my friend had an SE, and I wasn't impressed with any of them. The SE was the biggest disappointment considering he paid close to $3000 for it and my Rivera shit all over it. Every Engl I've heard sounds like a super compressed mess. Most of them are "heavy", but you can get the same sound with a SS Crate for $2500 less. I owned a Madison Divinity III and it was a pile of garbage. I sold it after a week. It sounded like a 5150 with way less balls. It was horrible. I've played the Prophecy and its good for a SS amp but it has zero cutting power. I do like the Framus Cobra. It's really "modern" sounding, but you can get lots of different sounds out of it. I've had two of them. I sold the last one to get my other Rivera so I don't regret getting rid of it, but I will get another one at some point. It was a fun amp. I knew someone who had a Madison Divinity and from what I remember it sounded killer. He did run a KK EMG 81/85 with 20 db boost setup so maybe that helped? I fucking HATE EMG 81 pickups! It's all trebley and middy and you can't get rid of it no matter what you try. But on the Madison thing, yeah, the boost may have helped. I seriously have not heard a worse "high gain" tube amp in my life. I'd rather have a Blue Voodoo over the Divinity III that I had. Maybe mine was defective or something, but man.. it SUCKED.

Blue doodoo is what we call em at the shop they sound like a hive of angry bees really. it trips me out how some people live by VHT pit bulls I watched a vid of a guy with one and a sonic maximizer(which when we played with manticore sounded awesome but now I think I was just really stoned because I just dont hear what it does besides make your signal sound active or digital)but I dont see what the big deal is,any one experianced theese amps in person?

No shops around here even carry them!!! I don't understand why people use shit like sonic maximizers anyway!! If you have a good high gain amp you don't need that shit!!!

There's nothing wrong with that man!! As long as you can jam!!! I wish I had a modeling amp to switch back and forth with my Peavey 6505 halfstack just for the effects!!
