IKON CUSTOMS guitars come standard with 12 gauge strings, and they're setup to an OS death-metal friendly D standard. They also come standard with locking tuners: Make sure the knob is loose when you change strings. Remember lefty loosey righty tighty!

Will 13 gauge strings work with these locking tuners? Most Sperzels will not fit anything larger than 12's? Just curious how 13's and B-standard tuning would work with these tuners?

These are USA locking tuners but they are not Sperzels. Yes 13 gauge strings will fit, and you know how it is, if you tune down to B you would want to use heavier gauge strings to stay in tune. However, since these are locking, once the strings are streched out it doesn't matter what gauge you use anymore, it should stay in tune. 13s are good for low tunings because the thicker gauge means thicker tone for the low strings.

What kindof strings do you put on the Ikons?? Unless you request for a special brand, we order them wholesale from a US manufacturer. I call them "Trip Wires". Everything on an Ikon is USA made, the materials, the paint, the resin, the hardware, pickups, down to the fucking screws.
